Jen Holmgren love letter to Gloucester…and the founding of our country…Highest of recommendations! Ms. Holmgren knocks it out of the park! This historian gives it two thumbs up. The study of history is not focused on the one-sided narrative (that of the victors that are taught in American Social Studies classes)…but of all narratives. Every culture has their own personal experiences (narratives)…the study of “History” is to bring light to all of these narratives…to shine the light on each…and merge them all into the greater understanding of our “national story…our HISTORY.” This is where real cultural understanding, acceptance and true equality can begin to grow and prosper. I encourage you to listen and learn. Embrace our collective history.
